ABOUT US
Thank you for visiting our Maddie's Mission website. When we decided to start fostering in 2012, our initial goal was to hopefully give a child a safe, nurturing home for what we thought would be a temporary period. Madison came to us in August of 2013 through the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF). Maddie was two years old and unable to speak but a few words - a sweet, innocent little girl who was born into a life of poverty and substance abuse. At that time, we did not realize how our lives were about to change, nor were we prepared to love this child as completely or as quickly as we did.
Our fostering path was both positive and painful. After a very emotional year, in October of 2014, Madison became an official member of our family and we legally adopted her. She has been a gift and has enriched our lives in more ways than we can express.

Along our journey, we learned a lot about the foster care system. We were made aware of the shockingly large number of children and families that are in need of help and support. In 2017, we founded Maddie's Mission, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help advocate for this population. In total, our events have raised close to $100,000 which we have given to the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps and the Wonderfund. The RFK Children's Action Corps (now known as the RFK Community Alliance) is a private, nonprofit that serves children who receive services from DCF. The Wonderfund provides monetary and material support, access to emergency aid, transitional necessities, as well as enrichment opportunities.
This year we are honored and excited to be partnering with MARE, Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange, as well as Silver Lining Mentoring.
Please join us as we strive to achieve the goals of Maddie’s Mission.
Thank you,
The Geller family
